I don't know whenold-fashioned tuna fishingwill take place.
The information is only from May to June
when tuna migrate to the set net off the coast.
The length of the fixed net reaches as long as3Km.
I came all the way from Japan to see it.
Tunais called"tonno"in Italian
Tonno Rosso "Bluefin Tuna"
Pinnajarra "Yellowfin Tuna"
Ala and Longa "Albacore"are a few.
Bigeye tuna do not live in the Mediterranean.
A festival of sea men that has been passed down for3000years.
For this day, I train my body and
divers checkthe fixed net every day.
"Tuna fishing ritual"
Pull up a giant tuna weighing400-500kg
with a single hand stick.
The sea is stained with blood and a magnificent figure unfolds.
That is "Mattanza".
This time of entry into the Mediterranean is the most,
fatty before spawning.
Eggs are processed into Bottarga (tuna dried mullet roe)
Milt is an early summer delicacy that can only be eaten in the production area.
80% of delicious tuna is exported to Japan.
Bottarga's spaghetti, the ultimate in luxury.
Fill your mouth with miltfrit
and taste it for the first time ... Feel Italy.
Cover the taste of the Mediterranean.
