Trip to Malta and Gozo

Malta

Malta From Catania Airport to Malta International Airport via Rome.
When traveling things happen, and how to survive it is the fun of traveling.
After waiting a long time, our party of 16 on a shooting tour our baggage never arrived.
Oh my…! The tour operator's complexion turned pale and hurried to the baggage service counter.Checking the color of the baggage, the subsequent flight from Rome has finished today. In other words, there is no expectation of arrival today.
Still, the tour moves around energetically.
Tour the center of the city by horse-drawn carriage, and there are many slopes in the city, which is easy for us.I am very satisfied with the explanation by the coachman, Mr. Kondo, who participated from Nagoya. I highly recommend you take this ride even if only once. (the price is about 5 euros negotiated first)

Colorful boats float in the fishing village of Marsh Rock. A pair of eyes is drawn on the bow.
It is a talisman that protects itself from bad weather. It is a leisurely, relaxing and really quiet fishing port. There was an old man in front of the harbor.
He said "hello," he casually said. 72-year-old Katssara. "Is Malta hot in June? Is it different from Japan the heat?"
Flowers bloom in small talk. "October or April is the best time to come next time," he said. Malta is an English-speaking country and 90% of people speak English. The story of soccer between Germany and South Korea, the world has become smaller.

After exploring the town, I head to the hotel.
Wearing the same clothes because no baggage. Get a toothbrush and razor at the front desk. "For everyone" ... " There is a charge ". Five-star hotels are also surprisingly smart. We managed to get a change of clothes for only one day. Comrades are born because of the matching T-shirts.

The next morning, "Come on, leave!", The voice of the tour operator who looks pale. I hope that my luggage will arrive today ... To the people in the car praying for our luggage to arrive.
The Republic of Malta became independent in 1973, and the island of Malta, which was the main guard of the Mediterranean route, has an unimaginably long and heavy history. You can feel it when you visit the Megalithic Temple.
It became an independent country around the same time as Okinawa’s return to Japan (May 1972). A historical island surrounded by a large citadel. A fortified city consisting of two uninhabited islands, Malta, Gozo and Comino.

Bagar Kim Temple

The world heritage megalithic temple, "Bagar Kim Temple," is theoretically found to be older than the Egyptian pyramids. It is a mysterious mystery why such a megalith could be moved and lifted 6000 to 7000 years ago. Looking closer, it feels like each megalith tells the whole story of the Neolithic era. The Maltese civilization is now considered the oldest in the world.Only this natural stone knows the deep mystery of archeology .
Today, Malta is a hotel construction rush with an increasing number of tourists as a resort in the world.
In tourist spots, prices are quite high and mineral water costs 150 yen. Taxis do not have meters, and the fare for going and returning is different. If you're not careful, they rip you off.
There are casinos in tourist areas, and there are three casinos on the island. My blood was boiling with excitement like the good old days and I went to the casino alone. Present your passport at the entrance, fill in your Japanese address, and even take a photo. Everything was input to the admission card I received. Casinos are also a card-universal. It seems that this card will be OK from the next time.

European casinos are smaller compared to the Las Vegas scale. Blackjack, roulette, slot machines, customers are few and far. I enjoyed playing roulette for about an hour, and my intuition was excellent.
The amount of chips increased while looking at it, and involuntarily Grinning "Goodbye" ... and I left the casino with excitement.

Taking a nap Ancient city Mdina

Mineral water and house wine are a set in the restaurants in Malta, and the service is perfect. However, no matter what I ate, the rich taste was quick to feel full.
Too much wine at lunchtime with Mr. Nagata from Fukuoka, a traveling companion. I visited the ancient capital of Malta, Mdina and Labert, in a very good mood.
The castle walls were an eye saw, so I jumped into a souvenir shop and watched a TV broadcast of World Cup soccer with shop staff who seemed to be comfortable. Keep the lid on the camera lens.
After watching the game, I slept on a bench in the shade of a tree. My favorite camera also takes a short break on my stomach. A comfortable breeze without humidity blows through, and I feel great! The "Knight of Naniwa" is not in the heat.
When I came next time, I wouldn't be able to take Kotetsu (my wife) and take a leisurely tour again with a modest amount of alcohol.

 Everyone gather! said a voice.
To the hotel for a break. Everyone was happy to see our bags had arrived. This is also thanks to the tour conductor. White teeth peeked into his pale face for the first time.
Malta's harbor at dusk. The silhouette of the church carrying the setting sun is beautiful. It still takes years to convey its beauty in my photographs. I'm sure I can express that figure someday.
I took a walk on the beach alone. A fisherman who leisurely puts out a rod on the beach in the golden sunset. My favorite camera didn't miss a photo opportunity.

The blue cave is a typical tourist spot. The cave, which has many coves and is arched by wave erosion, is located at the tip of the southeastern cape.
The tour of the cave is an eight-seater Lutz (boat). The color of the sea is especially beautiful in the morning when the light reaches. He found the subject, leaned forward, and the ship leaned. Laughter echoes in the cave. After all, traveling is good.

Gozo

The northern end of Malta. The ferry terminal was crowded with tourists, and it was a 30-minute cruise to Gozo.
The deck has blue eyes, red eyes, blonde hair, brown hair, and colorful. Gorgeousness that does not bother the model. It's strange because all foreigners look beautiful. Shutter sound / click / click.
I walked through the streets of Vialetta, the capital. A pleasant breeze blows your cheeks in the shaded alleys. First, tasting at a Maltese wine shop. The clean, dry white wine made my dry throat happy for a moment.

The town where medieval life lives is a dry town.
The greengrocer's storefront peppers and tomatoes are covered with dust and are tired of waiting for buyers.
The rural area overlooking the Great Citadel is idyllic and time passes slowly. I can't see any farm work. I don't feel like working in this heat.
I found a shaded coffee shop and finally sweated with a ticking ice cream. Midsummer sightseeing is an idea.

A telephoto view of the Blue Lagoon near the Ferry platform. It's pretty good. However, it is not comparable to the azure sea and nature of Ogasawara and Yaeyama Islands.
The sea in Japan is not bad ... A relieved, rushing tour of Gozo.
The end of the shooting trip was the final dinner. We ordered a special Maltese specialty, "Rabbit Stew" from the hotel. For long-term stays, if they have ingredients in the buffet , you can request it, so I definitely want to try it.
Finally, the rabbit stew came with steam. The seasoning is surprisingly light, and it tastes like chicken breast. The deep taste of the "stew", which was slowly simmered over time, gave sometime for conversation, and was full of smiles suitable for the ending of the trip.
The blissful dining table was crowded until late at night with dishes that I hadn’t seen for a long time.
